Sub: An opportunity to help educate underprivileged children.
Rotary International is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocation and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary District 3190 extends from Mandya to Srikalahasti (AP) including Bangalore, Tumkur, Kola, and Tirupathi, consisting about 4000 Rotarians in 85 Rotary Clubs.
Keeping in mind the importance of education for a better future, R.I District 3190 has come out with a mega project of donating school books to children. A total of 3 Lakhs school note books were donated in 2009-10. This year the district is planning for 4, 00,000 books at a cost of around 25 Lakhs.
Rotary procures these Customised notebooks at the Cost Price from the manufacturer & then distribute them to various Govt. /Corporation or other schools on a deserving basis.
Our club, Rotary Bangalore Peenya has identified a few schools in & around Peenya & received requests for over 25,000 books (100/200 pages).
